The "Ideal" Location

No other accommodation affords you the advantage of a downtown location near the principal points of interest, beaches and train, as well as the feeling of tremendous open space. Beach Knoll offers one to four room accomodations, most with panoramic views.

A 1740 historic inn overlooking Back Beach on beautiful Sandy Bay. A basis for Ruth Holberg's children's book, "The Smugglers of Sandy Bay"

The Beach Knoll overlooks Back Beach and the beauty of the famous Sandy Bay Harbor of Refuge. One block toward Main Street is Front Beach, a family beach protected by a lifeguard. Another block beyond are the galleries, restaurants and shops of Rockport Village and Bearskin Neck. Our north side faces another open area where summer Sunday band concerts and the July 4th celebrations are held. Ours is the best vantage point. In addition, we serve as the perfect base for day trips, by car or train, to the Boston, Salem, Lexington, and Lowell area attractions; as well as scenic southeastern N.H. and Maine.

Diane & Terry are now the longest (36 yrs.) continual innkeepers in Rockport, but consider themselves semi-retired. They remain open for a limited "season" each year, - primarily for their many "regular" guests that return annually and have become good friends. New guests are more than welcomed. Apartments are  made up for arrival, but then are "self catering". However, clean towels, trash removal, and additional paper products are available. Rates are reasonable and vary based on the specific apartment and the 3-7 night minimum stay. There are no listed office hours, but assistance is available by calling or leaving a message at 1-978-546-6939 or the "backup" phone listed on the front door. The Beach Knoll really is the "Ideal" location!
